WICHITA, Kan. – Senior pitcher Blake Maddock was named the KCAC Pitcher of the week following a career-best outing, the league announced Monday (Mar. 20).
A native of Oakdale, Calif., Maddock matched his career high with 11 strikeouts as the Bulldogs took down (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University at Bulldog Park. Additionally, he allowed just one run on three hits.
“It was fun to watch Blake execute the things that make him a great pitcher this weekend,” co-interim head coach Pete Horner said. “He played a massive part in our big weekend. It’s a pleasure to have him on our side when we go compete between the white lines.”
Maddock struck out five straight after hitting the leadoff batter and allowed just five base runners in seven innings of work. He is now ranked ninth in the KCAC in strikeouts per nine innings with 9.38.
The Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday (Mar. 21) for a midweek showdown with (RV) Tabor College at Bulldog Park. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
