The Beloit Lady Trojans, ranked ninth in Class 3A, won their fifth game of the season and remain unbeaten in league play with a 75-31 win over Lyons on Friday.
A pressure defense created Lyons turnovers, leading to quick transition points as the Trojans jumped to a 17-3 lead after the opening quarter. They took a 41-11 lead at halftime.
Beloit had two girls in double digits, led by Karlee Smith with a game-high 28 points, and Reagan Cheney, who finished with 22 points. Eight additional Trojans scored.
The leading scorers for Lyons were Keirah Davis and Hayden Linden with eight points each.
Beloit is now 5-1 on the season and 4-0 in NCAA league play. Lyons drops to 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in the league.

Beloit remained unbeaten as the Trojans defeated Lyons in a game that was close throughout. Beloit held a one-point advantage after the first period and but Lyons led 26-25 at halftime. Beloit had a strong third period, outscoring Lyons 20-9 to take a 10-point lead into the final stanza. Lyons cut the lead down to three points before Beloit hung on, making all their free throws in the final minute/
The leading scorer for Beloit was Truitt King off the bench with 17 points. He was followed by Body Litton with 15 points, of which 11 came in the second half.
The leading scorer for Lyons was Tegan Link with 13 points, followed by Derek Alvidez and Paco Espinoza each with 12 points.
Beloit improves to 5-1 and 4-0 in league play. Lyons falls to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the NCAA league. Lyons will travel to Minneapolis on Tuesday, while Beloit will host Southeast of Saline.
