Lyons, Larned Split Basketball Games

Lyons led most of the game as they beat Larned 62-52 on Friday.

The Lions kept the lead anywhere from seven to 12 points throughout the second half to win their fourth game of the season. Lyons had two players in double figures with Paco Espinoza scoring a game-high 23 points while Quanick Hamilton chipped in a career high 16 points.  The 23 points for Paco Espinoza was also a career high.

Larned also had two players in double digits as Kylier Greene led the Indians with 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Tristan Regan had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Lyons improves to 4-5 while Larned falls to 3-6. Lyons will travel to Gypsum to play Southeast of Saline on Tuesday, while Larned will host Nickerson.

Larned girls 62, Lyons 23   

The Larned girls picked up their seventh win of the season as they got a non-league victory over Lyons. Outscoring Lyons 25-5 in the second quarter, the Indians led 41-10 at halftime.

Lyons outscored Larned 11-10 in the third quarter.

Larned got a game-high 18 points from Jayden Crosby and Lauren Sleder. Crosby also had seven rebounds.

The leading scorer for Lyons was Keirah Davis with nine points.

Larned is now 7-2 while Lyons drops to 1-8.
