Lyons junior Jace Grizzle captured the 150-pound weight class state championship Saturday at the Kansas Class 3-2-1A state boys wrestling meet at Fort Hays State University’s Gross Memorial Coliseum.
Grizzle decisioned Minneapolis sophomore Jasper Johns in the 150-pound weight class championship match and finished the season undefeated with a 44-0 record. Johns posted a 37-7 record.
Lyons sophomore Xander Young placed third at 157 pounds and finished the season with a 25-2 record.
Lyons’ Easton Benavidez place fifth in the boys 113-pound division and finished the season with a 37-5 record.
Lyons’ Marius Lee placed fifth at 120 pounds and finished the season with a 35-10 record.
