Little River Squads Dominate Centre

The No. 1-ranked Little River girls and the No. 3-ranked Little River boys basketball teams dominated Centre Friday night at the Little River gymnasium.

The Little River boys, who jumped out to a 24-1 leading the first quarter and led at halftime 59-6, improved to 14-1 with a 68-16 victory over Centre. The Little River girls (15-1) led 31-0 after one quarter en route to a 91-13 victory.

The Little River boys were paced by Lincoln Raleigh with 15 points. Jaren Garrison and Nash Look each scored 9 points. Kade Feldman and Ty Janette each scored 7 points. Jaxson Konen, Blayne Baldetti and Jake White tallied 4 points each. Logan Schubert and Camden Strecker both scored 3 points.

Schubert grabbed 6 rebounds. Raleigh had 3 steals. Konen had 4 assists.

The Little River girls were paced by Dempsey Lafferty who scored 15 points in 8 minutes of playing time and grabbed 8 rebounds. Havana Olander scored 13 points. Lucy Wright scored 11 points in 8 minutes and pulled down 7 rebounds.

Evie Look scored 9 points, Arika Feldman 9, Eisley Ewertt 8, Saelyn Raleigh 8, Macy Schubert 7, Avery Lafferty 5, Maddison Crotinger 4 and Brooke White 2.

Adelynne Srecker did not score any points for Little River but had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Feldman had 5 steals, Lafferty 3, Raleigh 3 and Crotinger 3.

Little River hosts Canton-Galva on Tuesday and plays at Elyria Christian on Friday.

In other basketball games involving area schools, the Hutchinson Central Christian girls defeated Pretty Prairie 51-34, the Hutchinson Central Christian boys defeated Pretty Prairie 62-43, the Attica girls defeated Fairfield 54-35, the Fairfield boys defeated Attica 50-34, the Cheney boys defeated Garden Plain 53-47 and the Cheney girlsfell to Garden Plain 53-50.
