BASEBALL
The Little River baseball team continues to stay undefeated at 16-0 after sweeping Oxford Monday, April 28 on Senior Day.
The offense for Little River continues to dominate after 17 combined hits and 29 combined runs in their doubleheader Monday. The Redskins won game one 13-1 thanks to nine hits, which included two home runs from Logan Renken. They followed up with a 16-1 victory in game two after a 14-run fourth inning.
Little River will face Herington Thursday, May 1, looking to stay undefeated with six regular seasons games left.
SOFTBALL
The Little River softball team is getting into the swing of things (no pun intended) after struggling to start the season.
The team has played in two doubleheaders so far in the week, splitting vs. Oxford and Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic. They had two high-octane offensive matchups against Oxford Monday, April 28, winning 10-9 in game one but falling 21-19 in game two.
Following Monday’s split, they played again Tuesday at Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic. They split against Trinity, falling 5-4 in game one but showing out their offense in game two 20-3.
Little River is currently 4-10 on the season and will look to bounce back Friday, May 2 at home against Sterling.
