The girls basketball teams from Little River, Pretty Prairie and Hutchinson Central Christian posted victories Monday night and advanced to championship games in their sub-states .
The Little River girls basketball team advanced to the championship game of Kansas Class 1A Sub-State I with a 57-26 victory over Flinthills Monday night at Little River.
Arika Feldman led the Little River girls in scoring with 18 points. Havana Olander scored 13 points and Saelyn Raleigh tallied 12. Avery Lafferty and Evie Look contributed 5 points apiece. Lucy Wright contributed 2 points.
Three Flinthills players scored 7 points each: Rylee Randall, Alex Scribner and Nitari Cobuga.
Little River led 20-7 after one quarter, 34-12 at halftime and 43-17 after three quarters. Little River outscored Flinthills 14-9 in the fourth quarter.
The Little River Redskin girls (22-2), ranked No. 1 in Kansas Class 1A Division I, will play South Haven (16-6) at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Madison.
In the other sub-state semifinal Monday night, South Haven defeated Central Burden 49-20.
Pretty Prairie Girls 32, Madison 27
In the Class 1A Division I Girls Madison Sub-State II semifinals, Pretty Prairie defeated Madison/Hamilton 32-27 and Norwich defeated Colony-Crest 51-28.
Pretty Prairie (20-2) will play Norwich (16-8) in the Madison Sub-State II championship game at 5 p.m. Saturday at Madison.
Central Christian Girls 67, Peabody-Burns 8
In the Class 1A Division II Girls Hartford Sub-State I semifinals, Hutchinson Central Christian defeated Peabody-Burns 67-8 and Waverly defeated St. Paul 43-21.
Jessa Losew led the Cougar girls with 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Avery Kauffman scored 9 points.
Lily Lang tallied 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Townsley Huff scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Avery Duft scored 5 points. Harper Newcome had 5 points and 4 assists. Reese Swanson had 4 points and 7 rebounds. Ava Newcome contributed 2 points.
Hutchinson Central Christian (22-2), ranked No. 1 in Kansas Class 1A Division II, will play Waverly (11-12) in the championship game Saturday at Hartford.
Central Burden finished the season with a 15-7 record, St. Paul finished 14-8 record, Flinthills finished 11-11 and Peabody-Burns finished 2-19.
