Little River Pounces on Clifton-Clyde in Playoff Opener

LITTLE RIVER, Kan. — The Little River Redskins opened the eight-man Division 1 playoffs on Thursday night at home with an impressive 50-18 win over the Clifton-Clyde Eagles.

Little River used a powerful running attack and great special teams to overwhelm Clifton-Clyde. Junior running back Jaren Garrison would lead Little River in rushing with 12 carries for 111 yards and one touchdown, plus adding another touchdown through the air to senior wideout Ty Janette.  Senior quarterback Jaxson Konen was the second leading rusher with 60 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.  

The highlight play of the game came on the opening kickoff of the second half as junior running back Logan Schubert would return the kick 71 yards for a touchdown. 

Little River advances to the second round of the playoffs next week with a record of 8-1.  Clifton Clyde ends their season with a record of 6-3.
