Little River Girls Dethrone Centralia to Reach Class 1A DI State Title Game

The Little River High School girls basketball team is headed to another state title game.

The Redskins knocked off Centralia 59-47 in the Class 1A Division I girls state basketball tournament semifinals Friday night at Dodge City United Wireless Arena.

The Centralia Panthers defeated Little River in the 2025 Class 1A Division I state title game.

Little River (24-2) will play Wabaunsee (25-3) in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Wabaunsee defeated Pretty Prairie 49-38 in the last Friday semifinal game.

Centralia (23-3) will play Pretty Prairie (23-4) in the third-place game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Little River led 17-14 at the end of the first quarter, 30-25 at halftime and 48-35 at the end of the third quarter. Centralia outscored Little River 12-11 in the fourth quarter.

Arika Feldman scored 28 of Little River’s 59 points. The 6-foot-2 Fort Hays State University signee made 8-of-17 field goals (5-of-8 3-pointers) and 9-of-9 free throws. She also pulled down 8 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.

Saelyn Raleigh and Avery Laffery scored 7 points apiece. Adelynn Strecker and Havana Olander each scored 6 points. Avery Lafferty grabbed 7 rebounds and Raleigh pulled down 5 boards.

Malayna Recker led the Panthers with 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Tava Gibbs pulled down 11 rebounds.

In the late semifinal game, the Wabaunsee Chargers led the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs 21-19 at halftime. The Chargers outscored there Bulldogs 28-19 in the second half.

Talen Orton (23) and Grace Keller (20) combined for 43 of the Chargers’ 49 points and combined for 19 of the team’s 30 rebounds (Orton 12 and Keller 7). Keller also blocked 3 shots and had 5 steals.

Brennan Schrag led the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs with 12 points. Ava Goering and Kayleigh Vogel each scored 8 points and Ava White added 6. Vogel grabbed 9 rebounds.
