The Little River High School boys basketball team captured the Goessel Bluebird Classic championship with a 48-37 win over Canton-Galva Saturday night.
Little River also won the girls title with a 58-29 win over Linn.
Both Redskin teams are 4-0.
Jaxson Konen led the Redskin boys with 13 points. Little River’s Arika Feldman led all scorers in the girls championship game with 28 points.
In the third-place games, the Hutchinson Central Christian girls defeated Linn 53-46 and Elyria Christian defeated Linn 48-36.
In the fifth-place games, the Hutchinson Central Christian boys defeated Goessel 58-21 and the Goessel girls defeated Elyria Christian 49-46.
Piercen Huff led the Central Christian boys with 15 points. Cal Barnett and Cael Kooiman each scored 10.
The Central Christian Cougar girls were paced by Reese Swanson with 17 points. Avery Kauffman scored 15 and Jessa Losew added 10.
The Little River Redskins defeated McPherson Elyria Christian 58-34 Friday night to reach the title game.
Little River led Elyria Christian by just points (27-22) at halftime but outscored the Eagles 19-6 in the third quarter and 12-6 in the fourth quarter.
Jaxson Konen led Little River with 13 points,10 rebounds and 3 assists. Jaren Garrison had 12 points and 7 boards. Logan Schuster had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Blayne Baldetti scored 8 points.
“Our ability to defend the perimeter was a key factor in the second half,” said Little River boys coach Erik Base.
On Friday, the Little River girls defeated Elyria Christian 70-6, the Linn girls defeated Goessel 50-16 and the Linn boys defeated Goessel 58-22.
Arika Feldman led the Little River girls with 23 points. Havana Olander scored 15 and Adelynne Strcker 10.
