Larned High School football coach Brady Keith said he has been asked to resign as Indians’ head football coach.
Keith made the announcement in a letter to the “town of Larned.”
“Although I am stepping away, I want to thank everyone who invested in us over the past three years,” Keith said in his letter. “I am proud of the work that we did here, including posting one of the only three winning seasons in the past 25 years, renovating the locker room, winning a four-overtime game and aligning the youth programs with the high school.
“As someone who has cared about Larned football since he was 11 years old, this isn’t an easy thing, but I respect the decision to go another direction. I also want to be clear that I want this program to be successful whether I am the head coach or not.
“I truly love the kids in this town and I ask that the community support the next chapter of the program wholeheartedly, as that is what it always takes to be successful in high school sports. When things are good, stick together. And when things are tough, stick together.”
