On Monday, the Ad Astra Radio area saw multiple teams and individuals qualify for the KSHSAA State Golf Tournaments coming up next week.

Highlights from the day included the Buhler boys taking home the 4A Regional title at McPherson with a 321, nine strokes ahead of second place Concordia. Individually, Zach Chance took the regional title with a 72 on the day. Also in Class 4A, Andale took second place at the Circle Regional in Wichita, qualifying their full team for State. The 4A State Tournament will take place at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton on May 27 and 28.
In 3A at Kingman, Cheney took home the regional title with a team score of 347, 11 strokes ahead of second place Hoisington. Kory Meireis of Kingman continued his great season with a regional title, shooting a 79 on the day and winning by five strokes. Also on Monday, Connor Newman of Humboldt took the individual title at the Columbus Regional. 3A qualifers will compete at the State meet at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City.
In 2A at Salina, Trinity Catholic finished second place behind Sacred Heart, but the Celtics qualified their full team for the 2A State Tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson next week. Tyler Casebolt was the top finisher for Trinity Catholic in third place. Ellinwood also qualified their full team with a third place finish. The Erie Regional was cut to nine holes due to weather, but Ty Barnhart of the Red Devils took home the individual title with a 35 through nine holes and helped Erie to the team title as well. Hillsboro finished third place and will send their full team to state.
Multiple other teams will have a chance to qualify for state tournaments in their respective classes on Tuesday.
