WICHITA, Kan. — Sophomore tailback Brysen Kerby has been selected as the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, following his career day in the Bulldogs 28-0 win over Bethany College.
“It’s great to see Brysen raise his level of play and put together a day like he had Saturday,” head coach Jeremiah Fiscus said. “We are very proud of him.”
A native of Big Spring, Texas, Kerby scored three touchdowns for the first time in his career, and had his second career multi-score game. Additionally, Kerby carried the ball 16 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and caught seven passes for 130 yards and another score, all team-highs.
Kerby’s first touchdown came on a 65-yard touchdown pass, the longest touchdown of his career. He then followed that with a pair of one-yard touchdown runs.
With the two touchdown runs, Kerby is now fifth in the Kessinger Division with six rushing touchdowns this season.
Kerby and the Bulldogs are back at home Saturday (Oct. 28) for the final time this season, as they square off against No. 13-ranked Evangel University. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
