KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs, along with the other 31 NFL teams, had their schedule released Wednesday, May 14 as the 2025 season creeps closer.
The team will enter the 2025 season after falling in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles, marking their third straight trip to the big game. They will look to return to the postseason while also chasing their 10th straight AFC West title.
It will be a competitive season for the Chiefs. According to Chiefs.com, 10 games will feature opponents who made the 2024 playoffs and the combined 2024 record of the Chiefs’ 2025 opponents were 151-138, which is a 52.2% winning mark.
The Chiefs will play nine games at Arrowhead Stadium in the regular season. The team will play eight true road games and will play internationally for the first time since playing in Germany in 2023. They will also play on two major holidays, playing on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 2006 and on Christmas Day for the third year in a row.
The three preseason opponents have been determined, but the dates and times for the first two matchups have not. They will start the preseason in Arizona against the Cardinals then on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The final preseason game will be at home Friday, Aug. 22 against Chicago.
The team will have an interesting start to the year as they will travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil to face the Los Angeles Chargers Friday, Sept. 5. Week two will feature a rematch of Super Bowl LIX against Philadelphia for the Chiefs home opener.
KC will then have three primetime games in the next four weeks. There will be seven primetime games for Kansas City, which is the most out of any other team in 2025. They will travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, which will mark their first Thanksgiving game since 2006. Four weeks later, they will host the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day, which will be their third Christmas game in three years. The season closes in Las Vegas against the Raiders, which will be either Jan. 3 or 4, with a start time to be determined.
