MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Men’s Basketball will bring an overseas recruit to Manhattan, Kan. for the 2025-26 season, bringing in Serbian recruit Andrej Kostić.
Kostić has been a member of the Serbian U18 National Team where he averages 15.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-5 guard helped the team win gold at the 2023 European U18 Championship. He also won silver with the same team in the 2024 championship, where he scored 23 points against the German U18 team.
Head Coach Jerome Tang is looking to keep bringing in top recruits as they will have a near roster overhaul from the 2024-25 season. The team already loses star seniors David N’Guessan and Coleman Hawkins and they lose three transfers Dug McDaniel, Brendan Hausen, and Macaleab Rich.
The team has already brought in four transfers: Four-stars Nate Johnson from Akron, Abdi Bashir Jr. from Monmouth, and Tyreek Smith from Memphis. They also bring in transfer from UNC-Wilmington Khamari McGriff. Kostić is the second upcoming freshman recruit to commit, alongside three-star 6’1″ guard Exavier Wilson from Columbia, Mo.
Serbia is no stranger to basketball stardom. The Serbian national team won bronze in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and is the home country of reigning and 3-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets. It is also home of former NBA star Vlade Divac, who mostly played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.
