Hutchinson Trinity Varsity Boys Finish First in Class 3-2-1A Wamego Invitational Cross Country Meet

The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School boys cross country team placed first in the Class 3-2-1A division Saturday at the Wamego Invitational with 55 points.

The meet took place at the Wamego Country Club, where the Kansas Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A state cross country championships take place on Nov. 1.

The Trinity boys placed fourth in the junior varsity boys division with 78 points, the Celtic placed eighth in the JV girls competition with 141 points.

Hutchinson Trinity’s John Lindstrom and Jacob Lindstrom placed second and fourth in the Class 3-2-1A varsity boys 5K division with times of 17 minutes, 80 seconds, and 17:23.3.

Cameron Kiser placed 16th, 18:13.4; followed by Ambrose Pennycuff, 22nd, 18:28.7; Sam Madden, 26th, 18:44.5; Sam Pennycuff, 33rd, 19:15.5; and Noah Lau, 35th, 19:21.9.

In the JV boys race, Trinity’s Jonathan Springer placed ninth, 19:57.67; Dylan Bornholdt, 10th, 20:02.16; Axel Walline, 12th, 20:28.79; Owen Hammersmith, 20th, 21:15.57; Alex Guajardo, 27th, 21:38.76; Jackson Robinson, 31st, 21:48.19; Bryan Maya, 41st, 22:29.23; Elias Pennycuff, 42nd, 22:33.67; and Gavin Scott, 94th, 25:07.25.

The Trinity JV girls were paced by Mia Vega and Ciara Robinson, who placed 14th and 16th with time of 24:56.94 and 25:18.37. Aleaha Leighton placed 61st, 29:07.14; Sally Harroald, 103rd, 36:23.01; and Arianna Cano, 111th, 42:21.87.
