The Hutchinson High School volleyball team (22-13) is the No. 10 overall seed in the Kansas Class 5A West bracket.
Wichita Bishop Carroll (35-1) is the overall No. 1 seed in the West bracket, followed by Maize South (33-4) and Great Bend (25-9).
Hutchinson is assigned to the Maize South Sub-State 3 and will play No. 7-seed Salina Central (24-11) on Friday. The Hutchinson-Salina South match follows the 2 p.m. match between No. 2 Maize South and No. 15 Goddard (14-20).
The winners play for the 5A sub-state title. The sub-state winner advances to the Class 5A state tournament Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
