Hutchinson Monarchs to Host Food Drive July 18, Honor Veterans in July 19 All-Star Game

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Hutchinson Monarchs will hold two special events July 18-19 at Hobart-Detter Field.

Fri., July 18 will be the Food Drive for the Reno County Food Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, such as canned or dried foods, to be donated to the food bank. The game is also the regular season finale for the Monarchs as they host the Wichita Wildcats. Gates at Hobart-Detter Field will open at 6 p.m. and first pitch is at 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 19 will be the Jayhawk Collegiate League All-Star game, held at Hobart-Detter Field as well. The stadium will honor America’s veterans and active military members by offering free admission to the stadium. The game will feature the best players out of Jayhawk Collegiate League following the end of the regular season.

Hobart-Detter Field is located at 9 Emerson Loop West in Hutchinson. The Hutchinson Monarchs have a 23-5 record with one week left in the regular season, sitting in first place in Jayhawk Collegiate League standings. After the All-Star Game, they will head to Wichita for the National Baseball Congress World Series, held at Eck Stadium Park July 24 – August 1. The Championship game will be Aug. 2 at Equity Bank Park.
