Hutchinson Golfers 2nd at Salina Central Invitational

The Hutchinson High School boys golf team placed second at the Salina Central Invitational Monday on the par-70 Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Topeka Seaman won the tournament title with a 34-over-par 314 score, followed by Hutchinson 321, Salina Central 330, Liberal 335, Topeka High 339, Salina South 350, Wichita Bishop Carroll 351, Newton 355, Hays High 364, Wichita Northwest 371, Salina South JV 379, Salina Central JV 388 and Emporia 395.

Hutchinson’s Alex Haas placed fourth with a 6-over-par 76, losing to third-place finisher Evan Michalski in a playoff for third place. Teammate Tate England placed ninth 2ith a 79.

Landyn Powell and Maks Dreiling placed 15th and 16th with 83s.

Kale Dreiling finished 59th with a 100 and Teagan England placed 67th with a 105 score.

Topeka High’s Chase Hastert captured first-place medalist honors with a 75. He defeated second-place finisher Kale Miller of Liberal in a playoff. Miller also shot 75 in regulation.
