The Hutchinson Central Christian football team improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Kansas Eight-Man II District 5 play with a 52-6 victory over Pretty Prairie last Friday at home.
Central Christian junior quarterback Luke Eigsti completed 3-of-4 passes for 34 yards and rushed 3 times for 41 yards, including a touchdown run.
Piercen Huff ran for 99 yards on 7 carries, including 3 touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a TD.
Calvin Barnett ran for 54 yards on 3 carries and scored 1 TD. Cael Kooiman caught 2 passes for 31 yards with 1 TD.
Central Christian had 269 yards in total offense (235 yards rushing and 34 passing).
Kooiman led the Cougars with 6 tackles and recovered a fumble. Central Christian intercepted 5 passes, including 2 each by Eigsti and Huff and 1 by Barnett.
Pretty Prairie fell to 0-7 overall (0-4 in Eight-Man II District 5 play). The Bulldogs host Argonia/Attica at p.m. Friday.
Argonia/Attica (4-3 overall, 2-1 in district play) lost to Cunningham 62-14 last Friday.
The Cougars will play a 7 p.m. game Friday at Norwich. The Eagles (1-6 overall, 1-3 in Eight-Man II District 5 play) lost 52-6 last Friday night at Fairfield.
Notes: Central Christian is one of 27 undefeated teams in the state of Kansas. Cunningham is undefeated in Six-Man games, but lost an Eight-Man game. The Reno County Sabres are 7-0, but they are an affiliated home school program.
