The Hutchinson Central Christian boys basketball team improved to 10-13 with a 71-16 victory over Chetopa in a Kansas Class 1A Division II Hartford regional game Monday night at the CCS gymnasium.
The Central Christian Cougars led 22-3 after one quarter, 40-9 at halftime and 60-12 after three quarters.
Piercen Huff led the Cougars with 13 points. Cal Barnett scored 12, Luke Eigisti 10, Zeke Fletchall 9 and Hunter Franz 9.
Cale Datillo and Cael Kooiman each scored 5 points, Karson Sullivan 2 and Adam Eigsti 1.
Harrison Carter led Chetopa with 9 points. Jackson Lowell added 3, Brylan Berzas 2 and Corey Shepard 2.
Chetopa finished the season with an 0-21 record.
Central Christian will play Marmaton Valley (10-13) at 2 p.m. Saturday. Marmaton Valley received a first-round bye.
In the other Hartford regional first-round game Monday, St. Paul defeated Buffalo-Altoona Midway 77-40. St. Paul (7-16) plays at No. 1 seed Hartford (19-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The semifinal winners play March 6 at Hartford.
