Danai Morgan scored 15 points, Tenley Keeton added 13, and the Hutchinson High girls basketball team scored one of their best wins of the season Friday, edging Salina South 42-40 in Salina.
Hutchinson held Salina South to 28 points through three quarters before holding off a fourth-quarter surge.
Hutchinson improved to 8-8 and remains in the mix for a top-eight finish in the Class 5A West Substate standings. The top eight teams host a first-round substate game.
Hutchinson boys 47, Salina South 39 – The Salthawks snapped a four-game losing streak, and also stopped South’s five-game winning streak, as Hutchinson earned its sixth win of the season with one of its best wins of the season.
