Hutchinson Community College’s baseball Merek Yeager announced his commitment to play NCAA I level baseball next year.
The Northeast Now (Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada) newspaper’s website broke the news of Yeager’s commitment.
Yeager, a Muenster, Saskatchewan, Canada, native, has committed to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros of the Southland Conference.
Yeager, 18, is currently playing in his first season with the HutchCC Blue Dragons.
During the past two summers, Yeager has been suiting up close to home with the Saskatoon Berries of the Western Canadian Baseball League.
The plan, according to Yeager, is to finish the year with Hutchinson, play again with the Berries in the summer of 2026 and head down to Texas in the fall.
