The 1A District VII All-League Football team was released on Thursday, Nov. 20, which includes athletes from Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic, Sterling, and Ellinwood High Schools.
Trinity’s Drew Dechant, who was named the most recent Ad Astra Radio Athlete of the Week, earned First Team All-District Honors on offense, defense, and special teams. Bentyn Chastain and Isaac Hammersmith both earned First Team honors on offense and defense. In total, the Celtics had nine First Team honors, plus five named Honorable Mentions.
The Sterling Black Bears also had nine First Team honors, including Wyatt Newberry being named to the First Team Offense, Defense, and Special Teams, as well as an honorable mention spot on offense. Zane Farney was named First Team on offense and defense, plus an honorable mention on special teams. Kevin Ploutz earned First Team honors on offense and defense.
Ellinwood had eight total honorees, with Trace Tudor being the team’s lone First Team honoree as an offensive lineman.
