NEWTON, Kan. (BlueDragonSports.com) – Hutchinson Community College sophomore men’s golfer Charlie Box became just the fourth Hutchinson Community College men’s golfer to earn PING All-America honors in back-to-back seasons on Monday night.
Box was named a PING first-team NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf All-American at the NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship banquet in Newton. Round 1 of the 72-hole championship begins on Tuesday with the Blue Dragons teeing off between 7:30 and 8:10 a.m. off Hole No. 1

Box wasn’t the only Blue Dragon to earn PING postseason honors on Monday night. Jack Northgraves was named to the 2025 PING All-Freshman team. Box, Northgraves and freshman Corey Scullion were named to the PING All-Central District Team.
Head coach Chris Young was named a finalist for the Dave Williams Coach of the Year award.
Box has been one of the top-ranked NJCAA Division I golfers all season. This spring, Box won both the Jayhawk Conference and Region 6 individual championships and tied for fourth in the Plains District Championship.
Box has four overall tournament championships this season, winning the NJCAA National Preview and the Sam Proal Classic in the fall season. Box has placed in the Top 10 in 9 of 11 overall tournaments this season.
During the first round of the Jayhawk Conference Championship at Colbert Hills in Manhattan, Box shot a school- and course-record 62.
Last season, Box was a PING All-American honorable mention. He joins, Charlie Crockett, Harry Crockett and Ben Partridge as PING All-Americans in back-to-back seasons.
Box is the 18th all-time Blue Dragon to earn PING All-America honors.
Northgraves is ranked No. 19 in the nation this season and ranked No. 5 in the Central District. He won the Iowa Western Bent Tree Classic in September and has four Top 10 finishes this season. Northgraves earned first-team All-KJCCC honors with a fourth-place finish in the conference championship.
Scullion has earned three-straight Top 10 finishes, including tying for fourth in the Central District Championship at Tiffany Greens in Kansas City, Missouri. He earned second-team All-KJCCC honors with a sixth-place performance in the conference tournament and was second-team all-Region 6 after placing eighth at Sand Creek Station.
Young led the 2024-25 Blue Dragons to five team championships and seven Top-3 finishes this season. The Blue Dragons qualified for their 24th-straight NJCAA Tournament appearance with a third-place performance in the Central District Championship
2025 NJCAA Tournament
The Blue Dragons enter the 2025 Division I Championships ranked No. 3 in the nation. The Blue Dragons will be paired with No. 1 Midland and No. 2 Odessa for rounds 1 and 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Blue Dragons will tee off between 12:40 and 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Blue Dragon lineup will have Northgraves, Tyler Walker, Scullion, Louis Ross and Box with Cal Schultz as a substitute.
The Blue Dragons will be going after a fifth-straight Top 10 national finish and are eyeing their third national championship since 2021.
