Blackwell led wire to wire, using a strong second inning to push themselves out of striking distance. Despite the Hormigas’ comeback efforts, they fell short due to the early start the Flycatchers had.

The Hormigas did have 11 hits, including two home runs from Zachary Trangmar and another homer from Xander Nabors. However, they allowed five home runs, left 15 on base, struck out 16 times, and allowed 12 walks. Nick Fredrickson got the loss, throwing 1 1/3 innings and allowing 7 earned runs.

The Hormigas are now 6-16 on the season. They’ll rematch the Flycatchers Fri., June 27 at 6:30 p.m.
