WICHITA, Kan. (TaborBluejays.com) – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has announced that C.J. Hill has been named 2024 KCAC Bissell Division Assistant Coach of the Year.
Hill led a Bluejay defense that recorded 11 interceptions, seven fumble recoveries, 11 sacks, and 62.1 tackles per game. The Bluejay defense took four touchdowns back to the house, providing valuable scoring to aid the team in addition to their efforts on offense. The Bluejays held opponents to 25.8 points per game.
Hill’s defense played vital roles in several key games throughout the season, most notably in the program’s rivalry win over McPherson College in Week One, where two interceptions, one of which being a pick-six, helped Tabor cruise to a 20-10 victory over the Bulldogs.
Six of Hill’s defensive players earned All-Bissell Division honors, including Brooks Gardner. Under Hill’s leadership, Gardner became Tabor’s career leading tackler, finishing his career with 352 total tackles.
Hill was previously named KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018, making this the second of such awards.
