The Buhler Crusader girls and boys basketball team were swept by the Hesston squads Friday night at Jim Baker Fieldhouse in Buhler.
The Hesston boys prevailed 55-32 and the Hesston girls defeated Buhler 39-27.
Hesston led the Buhler girls 8-7 after one quarter, 16-11 at halftime and 26-19 after three quarters. The Swathers outscored the Crusaders 13-8 in the fourth quarter.
Tori Tustian led the Buhler girls with 9 points, followed by Kaia Edmund with 7, Ella Voss 4, Harlie Terrell 3, Nyah Sewell 2 and Maddie Stallman 2.
Voss and Terrell each grabbed 5 rebounds, Tustian 4, Stallman 4, Sewell 2 and Stallman 2. Edmond had 3 assists. Tustian had 4 steals. Jenna Lackey had 2 assists and 2 steals. Four players each had 1 blocked shot.
The Hesston Swather boys led the Crusaders 18-9 after one quarter, 32-11 at halftime and 46-21 at the end of the third quarter.
Brycen McCurdy led the Buhler boys with 14 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Carston Seidl scored 5 points, Isaiah Heredia 4, Zach Chance 2, Luke Holmberg 2, Landon Martinez 2, Asher Zachary 2 and Jacob Miller 1.
Holmbeg and Zachary each had 4 rebounds. Heredia dished off 3 assists. Nick Chance blocked 2 shots. Jared Miller had 2 steals.
The Hesston girls improved to 9-6 and the Buhler girls fell to 7-9. The Hesston boys are now 14-1 and the Buhler boys are 8-7.
The Buhler girls and boys play at El Dorado on Tuesday and at Mulvane next Friday.
The Hesston girls play Clay Center in the seventh-place game of the Hillsboro Trojan Class at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Hesston boys play Moundridge in the first-place game at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Hesston’s teams play at Halstead on Tuesday and host Larned next Friday.
