OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s soccer team improved to 2-2 on the year with a 3-0 win over Kansas Christian College on Tuesday, September 3.
After a scoreless first half, the Larks hopped on the offensive to win their second straight match. Mauricio Ramirez kicked off the scoring for HC in the 66th minute off of a pass from Tyler Beckford. Beckford remained heavily involved on offense for the remainder of the match scoring the other two goals for the Larks. His first came on a penalty in the 81st minute, firing a shot past the keeper giving the Larks a 2-0 advantage. On the ensuing kickoff, Beckford intercepted a pass and weaved through the Falcon defense and beat the keeper one-on-one to net the goal and secure the Lark victory.
The Larks tallied 26 total shots placing 13 of them on target. Regan Goodison started in goal for HC and recorded his first career shutout while recording five saves.
The Larks will begin conference play on Friday, September 6 as they host Allen Community College at Sieber Field at 7 p.m.
