SALINA, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s golf team made a strong showing at the 2024 Carmichael Cup hosted by Bethany College on September 9 and 10, shooting 903 (+63) and placing sixth as a team out of the ten-team field.
Mark Neeley, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, was named the individual champion with a total score of 209 (-1). Neeley shot rounds of 71, 68 and 70 on his way to his first individual championship in his second collegiate tournament ever. His low round of 68 is tied for the second-lowest round score in program history.
Ivar Bruce was the next highest finisher for the Larks shooting 220 (+10) for a 12th place finish with rounds of 73, 75 and 72.
Ryan Ziesch and Braxton Linden finished tied for 33rd with total scores of 237 while Tyler Steward finished 49th with a 260 total.
The Larks will hit the links once again next week as they travel to McPherson, Kan. For the 2024 Central Kansas Classic hosted by Central Christian College from September 16-17.
