HESSTON, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s basketball team showcased a commanding performance against the Southwestern College JV, securing a decisive 111-65 home victory on Tuesday night (December 3).
Hesston exploded out of the gate with an electrifying first half, racking up 63 points to Southwestern’s 27. The Larks maintained their momentum in the second half, outscoring the opposition 48-38. The win was highlighted by exceptional teamwork, as Hesston recorded 17 assists and 20 steals, demonstrating their offensive efficiency and defensive tenacity.
Leading the charge for the Larks was Brycten Harris, who tallied a season-high 23 points, shooting an impressive 7-for-10 from the field, including 3 three-pointers. Jammial Hicks added 16 points, hitting 3-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc. Trent Thompson contributed 13 points and showcased defensive prowess with 5 steals.
Hesston’s bench was instrumental, contributing a staggering 65 points, emphasizing the team’s depth and balanced scoring. Their dominance on the boards was equally evident, as they out-rebounded Southwestern 53-36, with Terryon Stebbins pulling down 8 rebounds and Henry Snyder adding 7.
Southwestern struggled to find offensive rhythm against Hesston’s aggressive defense, committing 27 turnovers that led to 41 points for the Larks.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday (December 7) as they host Northern Oklahoma College – Enid at 2 p.m. in Yost Center.
