LINCOLN, Neb. (HCLarks.com) – In a closely contested game on November 9, 2024, Hesston College men’s basketball fell to Southeast Community College, 84-78. Despite a competitive first half, ending at 38-35 in favor of Southeast, and a strong second-half push (43 points), Hesston couldn’t secure the win.
Christian Hammons led Hesston with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Jammial Hicks added 11 points and 8 rebounds, while John Probey contributed 14 points with three 3-pointers and 7 rebounds. D’Angelo Dawkins also impressed with 10 rebounds and 7 points, and Terryon Stebbins grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 6 points. Hesston out-rebounded Southeast 50-37, including 20 offensive rebounds.
Shooting efficiency varied: Hesston made 37.7% of field goals and a solid 42.3% from three-point range but struggled at the free-throw line, converting only 52.9%, compared to Southeast’s 64.7% with 22 points from free throws.
The Larks will be back in action on Wednesday (November 13) as they host Kansas Christian at 7:30 p.m.
