Hesston College Men’s Soccer Takes Down Ozark Christian

JOPLIN, Mo. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s soccer team broke into the win column on Saturday, August 31 as they took down Ozark Christian College, 6-1. The Larks held a narrow advantage at the break but the offense found their rhythm in the second half pouring in four goals. HC improved to 1-2 on the year.

Freshman Alex Radu kicked off the scoring for the Larks as he buried a shot in the 14th minute for an unassisted goal. The Ambassadors tied the match soon after, but Yura Yamazaki put the Larks back in front in the 26th minute scoring off of a pass from Michele Cimino.

The Larks wasted no time in the second half as Tyler Beckfordfound the net in the 49th minute off of a cross from Mauricio Ramirez. Radu notched his second score of the day in the 56thminute on a penalty kick. Less than a minute later, Cimino netted a score of his own on a pass from Lewis Wan for the Larks third goal in nine minutes. Josh Hamilton capped off the match for the Larks with a goal in the 88th minute with another assist from Wan.

The Larks tallied 33 total shots in the match and put ten of them on target. Santiago Gonzalez started between the post for HC recording one save.
