The Hesston High School boys golf team placed first in the Hillsboro Invitational Friday at the par-70 Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course.
Hesston posted a 337 team score, followed by Hillsboro at 366 and Canton-Galva 433.
Seven schools, including Halstead, did not field enough golfers to post team scores. The top 10 golfers earned medals.
Halstead’s Maxx Linton placed eighth with 87 and teammate Lance Anderson finished 12th with a 92. Harrison Wilson placed 26th with a 109 score.
Lost Springs-Centre’s Easton Glessner and Hesston’s Eli Roth topped the field with 10-ver-par 80s. Glessner defeated Roth in a playoff for first-place medalist honors.
Goessel’s Levi Schrag and Solomon’s Breken Coup both shot 83, with Schrag beating Coup in a playoff for third-place medalist honors.
Hesston golfers Derek Gudeman (85), Aiden Bridgeman (86) and Glen Birdsell (86) placed fifth, sixth and seventh. Hillsboros’s Peyton Miller (87) and Jake Sibayan (89) placed ninth and 10th.
Hesston’s Tytan Howard placed 11th with a 91 and Brett Nelson was 14th with a 95.
