The Hesston varsity girls and boys basketball teams swept Hoisington Tuesday night at the Hesston gymnasium.
The Hesston girls defeated Hoisington 62-39 and the Swather boys downed the Cardinal boys 52-47.
The Hesston girls led the Cardinals 23-11 at the end of the first quarter, 41-19 at halftime and 59-27 at the end of the third quarter. The Cardinal girls outscored the Swather girls 12-3 in the fourth quarter.
Hesston’s Callie Yoder scored 19 points, Jaden Williams 14 and Kylie Warden 11. Hoisington was paced by Tianna Lutters with 12 points. Laeya Beck added 11.
The Hesston varsity boys led 12-5 at the end of the first quarter, but Hoisington took the lead at halftime 19-16. Hesston took a 31-29 lead at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Cardinals 21-28 in the final frame.
The Hesston boys improved to 9-1 and the Hesston girls are 7-3. The Hoisington boys are 5-4 and the Cardinal girls are 5-3.
Hoisington hosts Pratt on Friday night and Hesston plays at Hillsboro.
