In the Class 3A girls sub-state 2 semifinals, Hesston defeated Cheney 35-21 and Southeast of Saline defeated Caney Valley 51-43.
After falling behind 6-2 in the first quarter, Hesston outscored Cheney 15-1 in the second quarter for a 17-7 halftime lead. Hesston led 23-13 after three quarters and outscored the Cardinals 12-8 in the fourth quarter.
Hesston (16-9) will play Southeast of Saline (18-5) in the Haven sub-state 2 finals Saturday.
