Haven swept the Nickerson girls and boys basketball teams Tuesday night at the Nickerson High School gymnasium.
The Haven girls won 63-16 and the Wildcat boys won 83-63.
The Haven boys led 67-44 after three quarters.
The Haven varsity girls (4-2) led 35-6 at halftime and 57-6 after three frames.
Avery Brawner led the Haven girls with 24 points and added 4 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Rilynn Patry added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals.
Skyler Lamas led Nickerson with 8 points. Centhiyan Bankston added 5 and Aleah Collins scored 3.
“Our recent game against Haven provided us another opportunity to provide our deep bench and younger players with more experience,” said Nickerson girls coach Masen Bosworth. “As a team we are still focusing on offensive consistency and dealing with pressure.
“Many of our players provided good minutes and maintained game motivation. Haven presented a strong team with effective usage of their height and physicality.”
The Haven boys (2-4) placed five players in double figures, led by Brogan Wray with 14 points.
Jace Martin and Logan Jacques each scored 13 points. Wyatt Bontrager and Cole Brawner each scored 11 points.
Kolton Altvater contributed 9 points and Zade Turner tallied 7.
Austin Peterson led the Nickerson boys with 18 points. Dale Smith and Riley Brawner each scored 13 points and Noah Weber tallied 11 points. Cameron Welch contributed 4 points, Corbin Shelton 2 and Jarrett Alkire 1.
The Nickerson junior varsity boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season, winning a 55-47 decision against Haven. The Panther JV girls lost to Haven 46-12.
Haven plays at Belle Plaine Friday night to wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule. Nickerson hosts Wichita Trinity Academy Friday night.
