WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Junior Jamil Hardaway has been named the KCAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, following an outstanding week, the league announced Monday (Feb. 12).
The Louisville, Ky., native averaged 22.0 points per game this week thanks to 63.0 percent shooting from the field, and a staggering 72.7 percent from beyond the arc.
He got his week started with a 22-point performance in a narrow loss to Evangel that included going a perfect 6-for-6 from the three point line. In the loss, Hardaway also finished with one assist and an offensive rebound.
Hardaway followed that with another 22-point game, while grabbing a pair of offensive rebounds, in the thrilling win over Bethany College.
“I’m really happy for Jamil!” head coach T.J. Eskildsen said. “He works as hard as anyone we have. His effort and enthusiasm are contagious. He had a great week and is very deserving of this award.”
He has been on an absolute tear over the last five games, averaging 19.6 points per game on 50.7 percent shooting and 43.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Hardaway becomes the second Bulldog to win KCAC weekly honors this season, joining Quinn Collins who was named Defensive Player of the Week in December.
