The Halstead High School varsity boys golf team placed second at the par-72 Herington Invitational Tuesday at the Herington Country Club.
Council Grove edged out Halstead 377-381 for the team title.
Canton-Galva placed third at 392, followed by Marion 396, Goessel 409, Berean Academy 416, Remington 436 and Sedgwick 441. Lost Springs-Centre did not field enough players for a team score.
Individually, Maxx Linton led the team with a seventh-place finish (90), followed by Aaron Learn 11th (94), Lance Anderson 14th (96) and Harrison Wilson 20th (101).
Marion’s Jayden Stiver captured first-place medalist honors with a 2-over-par 74, followed by Goessel’s Levi Schrag in second place with a 74 and Canton-Galva’s Brody Nelson in third place with an 80.
