The Halstead Dragons dropped a 42-14 decision Friday night at Ellsworth.
After Ellsworth scored the first touchdown of the game, Halstead’s Edric Zorn returned the kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown. Carlos Martinez tied the game at 7-7 with the extra point kick.
Ellsworth led at halftime 14-7 and scored a touchdown in the third quarter.
Halstead’s second TD came on a 14-yard run by Brock Odendahl. Martinez kicked the PAT.
Ellsworth led 35-14 after three quarters and added another TD in the fourth quarter for the 42-14 final score. The Bearcats improved to 5-1.
Halstead hosts Southeast of Saline next Friday.
