Halstead, Burrton and Fairfield cross country runners competed at the Goessel Invitational Thursday at the Bethel College Course in North Newton.
Hesston placed first in the varsity girls standings with 14 points. Halstead placed eighth out of none teams with 112 points.
Andale won the varsity boys team title with 22 points. Halstead placed ninth out of 10 teams with 149 points.
In the varsity girls 5K competition, Halstead’s Briley Allmon and Addison Wills placed 16th and 17th with times of 22:51.89 and 23:08.6.
Teammates Charlie Harrington and Mackenzie Ervin placed 41st and 42nd in 26:20.61 and 17:01.5. Whitney McGlothlin and Madi Rump placed 50th and 53rd in 28:26.91 and 31:38.
In the varsity boys 5K race, Halstead’s Johnathan Haspels placed 30th with a time of 19:35.18, followed by Russell Schroeder, 38th, 20:48.77; Eli Wilcox, 56th, 21:18.95; Austin Schroder, 61st, 21:46.82; and Dylan Jahnke, 63rd, 21:53.01; Daniel Lipani, 73rd, 22:56.18
Burrton’s Issac Jones placed 18th with a time of 18:26.82, followed by teammate Logan Lans. 42nd, 20:12.85; and Ryker Barnes, 54th, 21:15.29.
Fairfield’s William McIver placed 58th with a time of 21:19.83.
In the JV boys 5K race, Halstead’s Donovan Healey placed 24th with a time of 22:53.68, followed by Jeriah Plank. 34th, 24:43.81; Geordan Schrag, 39th, 25:14; and Wiley Hoch, 40th, 25:28.9.
Fairfield’s Thad Brown placed 33rd with a time of 24:34.54.
Halstead’s Kyren Davis won the 8th grade boys 2-mile run with a time of 11:45.74. Elijah Mason-Oswald was eighth in 13:36.83, followed by Griffin Patrick, 11th, 14:16.6; Avi Rodriguez, 14th, 14:52.22; Kolton Rump, 15th, 14:52.34; and Brett Barry, 17th, 15:29.85.
Burrton’s Brandt Hilburn placed 18th in the 8th grade boys 2-mile with a time of 16:21.49.
