GREAT BEND, Kan. – The weather from earlier in the week that postponed two games did not give the Great Bend Bat Cats any rust Wednesday as they run-ruled the Dodge City A’s at home 14-2.

The Bat Cats scored in all six innings that they were on offense. A 10-hit difference between the two teams was the difference maker as all but one Bat Cat starter had a base hit.
Luke Nohinek led going 3-3 with two doubles and three RBI’s. Peanut Brazzle went 2-4 with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Kyle Walker, Tyler Clementz, and Joey Marker had two hits as well, giving the Bat Cats five players with a multi-hit performance.
Andrugh Yee got the win after pitching the first three innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs. Cade Kunz then threw four shutout innings with three strikeouts and Carson Bougher pitched the final inning.
The Bat Cats are now 10-6 on the season with a 9-5 league record, putting them in 3rd in the Jayhawk Collegiate League standings sitting behind first place Hutchinson by just 2.5 games. Great Bend will stay home Thurs., June 26 to face the Kingman Islanders at 7 p.m., which was originally scheduled for Mon., June 23 but was pushed to Thursday due to severe weather in the area.
