Great Bend Bat Cats Beat Twins, Brigade

GREAT BEND, Kan. – The Great Bend Bat Cats started off the week strong defeating the Derby Twins Mon., June 9 then defeating the Junction City Brigade Tues., June 10.

The week started with a 7-1 victory over Derby. Elias Leon recorded a 2-4 day with two runs and an RBI. Deacon Pomeroy went 1-3 with a home run and 2 RBI. Tyler Clementz recorded the win pitching seven innings, striking out eight batters. Tyler Stuhlsatz slammed the door in the 8th and 9th innings.

The Cats then defeated the Junction City Brigade 10-8 at home Tuesday. Pomeroy had another strong day, hitting 3-4 with a double, a home run, and 4 RBI. Elias Leon chipped in three RBI’s as well, hitting 2-5. Elijah Lang recorded the win, pitching six innings allowing three hits, two runs, and striking out four. Jacob Field gave up six runs in two innings, however four of then were unearned. Ryland Khan picked up the save in the 9th, pitching one inning and retiring the side in order.

Great Bend is now 6-2 on the season. They’ll head to Junction City to face the Brigade Thurs., June 12.
