University of Oregon wide receiver Malik Benson, a former Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon, played his final college football game Friday night.
Benson caught 2 passes for 23 yards the Oregon Ducks’ 56-22 loss to Indiana Friday in the CFP Semifinal/Peach Bowl football game in Atlanta. The Ducks posted a 13-2 record in 2025-26.
On Oregon’s first snap of the game (just 11 seconds into the game), Benson was the intended target for Oregon quarterback Dante Moore.
However, Indiana cornerback D’Angelo Ponds intercepted Moore’s pass to Benson and returned the pick 25 yards for a touchdown.
Benson, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior from Lansing, Kan., finished the 2025 season with 43 catches for 719 yards and six touchdowns.
Benson played his 2021 and 2022 seasons at HuchCC, 2023 at Alabama, 2024 at Florida State and 2025 at Oregon.
During his four college seasons with four different programs, Benson caught 178 passes (97 with HutchCC) and had 29 touchdown catches.
