KANSAS CITY, Mo. (macbulldogs.com) — McPherson College senior Antonio Fernandez was selected to the NAIA All-American First Team, the national office announced Tuesday (Jun. 6). He becomes just the second Bulldog in the brief history of McPherson baseball to secure first team honors.

A native of Tucson, Ariz., Fernandez broke several single-season school records, including hits (97), doubles (26), RBIs (83), and total bases (167). He also led the Bulldogs with 13 home runs and hit .460.

In addition to his multiple records, Fernandez became just the third Bulldog in history to hit for the cycle in a 14-9 comeback victory over then-No. 19-ranked USAO in Chickasha, Okla.

The unanimous All-KCAC First Team selection paced the conference in hits, doubles, RBIs, and batting average. He was also second in slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
