Dragons Split with Eastern Wyoming, Weatherford

WEATHERFORD, Texas – Sophomore setter Giovanna Ravanhani posted her third double-double of the season as the Blue Dragons went 2-2 over the weekend against a tough Weatherford College Tournament field.

The Blue Dragons on Saturday defeated Eastern Wyoming 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-16), but lost to No. 11 Weatherford 3-0 (22-25, 20-25, 21-25).

Now 9-4 overall, the Blue Dragons have three Jayhawk Conference home matches coming up this week starting with Pratt at 6 p.m. on Monday.

After a slow start against the Lancers, the Blue Dragons got going in the second and got stronger as the match went on, winning the fourth by nine points.

Sophomore Taniya Golden had a double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs to lead the Dragons. Golden now has seven double-doubles this season.

Ravanhani had 30 assists and a career-high four block assists.

Sophomore middle blocker Anna Dean registered 10 kills and seven total blocks with two solo blocks.

Freshman middle blocker McKenzie Murphy added five kills and two block assists.

Freshman libero Isabella Rollandini had team highs of 14 digs and three ace serves. Sophomore Alejandra Briseno had 10 digs. Freshmen setters Shelbi Wilson and Ryleigh Stuhlsatz had seven and six assists, respectively.

Ravanhani had 29 assists and 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. She added one block and one service ace.

Golden had a team-high eight kills with an ace serve and one solo block.

Briseno had eight kills and 11 digs.

Sophomore middle Cameron Letcher was a perfect 7 for 7 in attacks and finished with two block assists.

Rollandini finished with 14 digs. Dean had two solo blocks while freshman Callie Muff had two blocks, including one solo.
