HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Following a third road victory over a ranked opponent this season, the Hutchinson Community College football team remained atop the NJCAA Division I Football rankings on Monday.
Sitting on top of the national rankings for the sixth-straight week, the Blue Dragons stayed unbeaten with a 43-16 victory at No. 10 Butler last Saturday in El Dorado.
Now 3-0 against ranked opponents this season, the Blue Dragons play host to No. 11 Dodge City at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gowans Stadium.
For the fifth-straight week the Blue Dragons had nine first-place votes to Iowa Western’s one and maintains a 149-141 points lead on the No. 2 Reivers.
Iowa Western, Mississippi Gulf Coach and Snow remain Nos. 3 through 5 this week.
With a big victory over Garden City on Saturday, Dodge City jumped four spots to No. 11. Butler slipped four spots to No. 14 after the loss to Hutchinson on Saturday. Independence, which pushed No. 2 Iowa Western on Saturday, is receiving votes for the second-straight week.
The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 23 consecutive ranking periods.
Hutchinson (5-0), Iowa Western (6-0), Mississippi Gulf Coach (4-0) and Northeast Mississippi (4-0) are the lone remaining unbeaten teams in NJCAA Division I football.
