GOODLAND – Sophomores Jaden Wilson and Noelle Anthon both posted double-doubles to lead the No. 13-ranked Hutchinson Community College women’s basketball team to its 10th-straight victory on Wednesday in the 2025-26 regular-season finale at Fort Hays Tech Northwest.
The Blue Dragons placed four players in double-figure scoring to defeat the Tigers 76-50 at the Max Jones Fieldhouse.
The Blue Dragons (25-5, 20-4 KJCCC) earned the No. 3 overall seed for the Region 6 Tournament, which begins on Saturday. Hutchinson will have an opening-round bye on Saturday and will play the Colby/Pratt winner at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sports Arena. Fort Hays Tech Northwest finished the season at 2-28 overall and 2-22 in the KJCCC. The Tigers will be the No. 12 seed in the Region 6 Tournament.
The Blue Dragons’ current win streak is the 20th time in head coach John Ontjes’ 19-year tenure that Hutchinson has produced a win streak of at least 10 games.
Wilson came off the bench to post her first career double-double. Wilson had 13 points and a career-high-tying 10 rebounds. Wilson was 5 of 6 shooting, including a 3-pointer.
Anthon earned her third career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Anthon was 7 of 14 shooting.
Sophomore Katie Duncan led all scorers with 19 points. Freshman KaMyra Barber finished with 11 points. Freshman Whitney Brown had eight points and a career-high-tying seven rebounds.
The Blue Dragons had their fifth 50-rebound game of the season, out-rebounding Fort Hays Tech Northwest 51-31. Freshman Kaia Smith led with a career-high 14 rebounds, the second-most rebounds by a Blue Dragon individual this season.
Hutchinson shot 40.6 percent overall (28 of 69). The Dragons were 7 of 22 from 3-point range and 13 of 24 from the free-throw line.
Fort Hays Tech Northwest shot 30.6 percent (19 of 62), hitting 8 of 39 from 3-point range and 4 of 8 from the free-throw line. The Tigers had 20 turnovers.
Marta Rodriguez hit four 3-pointers and led Fort Hays Tech Northwest with 17 points.
Tech hit three first-quarter 3-pointers to stay close, but an Anthon inside bucket helped the Dragons build an 18-8 lead with 4:51 to play in the opening quarter. Two Wilson free throws in the final minute gave the Dragons a 21-13 lead after one quarter.
A Wilson 3-pointer and Anthon basket upped the Dragon lead to 27-13 with 7:23 to play in the second half. The Dragons couldn’t quite shake the Tigers in the second quarter and led 36-25 at halftime.
The Dragons led 52-39 in the third quarter and closed the period with a Duncan steal and layup, an Anthon inside bucket and a 26-foot buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Brown to lead 59-39.
Hutchinson pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 17-0 run. After Anthon’s bucket with 2:50 remaining, the Blue Dragons led 76-44.
