McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – McPherson College Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, EJ Daffin, has finalized his coaching staff with the addition of three dynamic hires: Hannah Showalter as Head Cross Country and Assistant Track & Field Coach, and John Purvis and Bri Sansoucie as Assistant Track & Field Coaches.
Hannah Showalter joins McPherson College with deep roots in Kansas athletics. A graduate of Emporia State University, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees while competing in cross country and track & field. She also ran at the University of Saint Mary during her graduate studies, then gained coaching experience as an assistant at Butler Community College. Her familiarity with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), along with her dual experience as an athlete and coach, positions her to make an immediate impact on the program.
John Purvis, a New Jersey native, brings a strong background in throwing events and sports performance. A standout shot putter at Marshall University—where he set a school record—Purvis is a graduate of Morgan State University and also pursued advanced studies at the University of North Texas. His expertise in strength training and athlete development adds a powerful dimension to the Bulldogs’ coaching staff.
Bri Sansoucie, a former NAIA student-athlete from Missouri Baptist University, rounds out the staff. A competitor in hurdles and jumps, Sansoucie is known for her leadership, technical knowledge, and passion for the sport. Having trained under Coach Daffin previously, she brings a clear understanding of the team’s goals and culture. Her energy, perspective, and NAIA experience will be key assets as McPherson continues to build momentum.
“These hires are a huge step forward for our program,” said Coach Daffin. “Each of them brings a unique strength and a shared commitment to developing our student-athletes on and off the track. I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
With this strong and experienced staff in place, McPherson College Cross Country and Track & Field is poised for a new era of growth and success.
