The Cunningham boys basketball team is headed to the 1A Division II State Tournament for the third straight year after defeating South Barber 47-37 in Caldwell.

The Wildcats will enter state as the No. 4 seed and face No. 5 seed Weskan in the first round. It will be a highly anticipated matchup after the two schools met in the 6-Man state football championship this past fall. Cunningham came away with the win.

Weskan is headed to the 1A-II  state tournament for the first time since 2004 after a 71-67 overtime comeback win over Wheatland.

Down 18 points, Weskan stormed back and forced overtime when Karsyn Wright drilled a clutch three with just 3 seconds left in regulation.

Weskan boys head coach Nolan Cox, who played on the program’s last state team in 2004, now leads the Coyotes back to the tournament as they move on with momentum.
